Other Ways to Give

Make a gift of Stock

Donations of stocks and appreciated securities are one of the most cost-effective assets to use in making a gift to Child Justice.  When you transfer ownership of holdings to Child Justice, you receive a charitable deduction at their full market value – and you incur no capital gains tax (subject to IRS deduction limits).   Please e-mail Eileen.King@child-justice.org or call 301.907.2779 to arrange a transfer to our brokerage account.

Make a Gift from your Retirement Account

If you are 70 ½ years and older you may donate up to $100,000 from your individual retirement account (IRA) to Child Justice as a charitable non-profit without having to treat the withdrawal as taxable income. The giving incentive is of particular value to individuals who do not claim itemized deductions on their tax return because the funds are sent directly to the non-profit from IRA accounts and are never counted as income.  Consult your tax advisor on whether this is a viable option for you.

Will & Estate Planning

Let your legacy be one of caring for our most vulnerable by including Child Justice in your will or estate plans.  Including Child Justice in your will or estate is a meaningful sign of your commitment to helping protect children and families during your lifetime, and can offer transformational opportunities to people who come after you.   A bequest to Child Justice can be made through a provision in your estate planning documents (your will, a revocable trust or other applicable documents) and is a straightforward process.  Please consult your legal and tax advisor for more information.
