Child Justice, Inc. is a national organization based in Silver Spring, Maryland, with satellite offices in Columbia and Rockville. Child Justice staff attorneys work with non-offending protective parents to seek appropriate judicial solutions to protect children. We advocate for children’s rights when the courts fail to protect them in custody cases that involve domestic violence and/or child abuse. We also handle protective order cases that involve children. Legal interns have the opportunity to work alongside our attorneys and clients gaining hands-on experience. If you are interested in applying for an internship, please click the button below.
- Summer Placement: March 15
- Fall Placement: July 15

Due to the challenging nature of the subject matter and duties of interns, 2L students are preferred. However, we will consider 1L students if they meet our criteria. If you are self-motivated, have excellent attention to detail, and are able to meet deadlines, please apply. You must be able to handle highly emotional material and maintain confidentiality. While internships are unpaid, there is opportunity to receive academic credit.
If you are interested in applying for an internship position, please fill out the form below and we will be in touch. Please be mindful of the application deadlines. Thank you for your interest in protecting children!
“Interning at Child Justice has provided great practical experience and exposure through motions practice, court observation, and research assignments. Beyond that, it has been a rewarding experience. Working at Child Justice has provided me with the opportunity to help parents navigate the legal system and to advocate for those who need the most protection.”-Kristin Weiss, J.D.
