Child Justice, Inc., (Child Justice or CJI) provides a variety of legal services to protective parents who seek legal intervention to ensure the safety and well-being of their children. These services might include technical assistance to attorneys representing protective parents, amicus curiae support in appellate matters, pro bono placement with local law firms for unrepresented litigants and direct legal services. Direct legal services provided range from information and referral, brief advice, consultation or limited scope representation, civil and criminal case accompaniment, to full case representation in protective order and family law cases. In order to be considered for direct legal services from Child Justice, potential cases must be based in Maryland courts, and there must be supported claims of child abuse, child sexual abuse, and/or interpersonal violence. All legal services are provided free of charge.
