June News & Updates – Child Justice Celebrates 10 Years Of Service!

May was a big month at Child Justice! It kicked off with a well-deserved Lifetime Achievement Award for Child Justice Founder and Executive Director, Eileen King, at the 2022 Battered Mothers Custody Conference! Read on to learn why Eileen started Child Justice nearly ten years ago.

Then, we watched as Governor Hogan signed into law SB17, the bill that requires judges and magistrates to have relevant training that will give them the necessary tools to assist them when hearing child custody cases involving allegations of domestic violence or child abuse - the first of its kind in the country!

To finish the month, we were thrilled to learn that Child Justice was the recipient of the 2022 Maryland Pro Bono Program Award, to recognize our pro bono efforts and service to the Maryland community. We are so honored to receive this award!
